Mathematical Evidence - The End of this Age

If I told you that I could prove the final seven years of this man-made world is poised to begin, would you believe?

Well, buckle up boys and girls. You are about to take a 6000 year old ride and it might shake you up a little!

Almighty God has a 7,000 year plan for humanity and for this hunk of rock we currently call 'earth'. As Genesis 1:1-31 shows, God refashioned the earth and created all life forms, including Adam (Hebrew for 'man') and then rested on the seventh day or the Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3).

God also gave man six days to work followed by a day of rest (Exodus 20:8-11). The Sabbath is such an important day to God that He even took the time to include this in His Ten Commandments. On the Sabbath, man is to set aside his normal routine to worship the only true God (Isaiah 58:13-14) and study His instruction manual, the Bible.

The Apostle, Peter, clearly understood the seven day week as a pattern that applies to man on a much grander time scale. In 2 Peter 3:8-9, Peter writes 'But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance.'

The Apostle, Paul, also understood this concept where he explains in Hebrew 4:3-11 the seventh day of the week and how this will be a peaceful time of rest after this age of human activity.

So the two questions to ask are:

When does the rest period begin?
And
When does the 'work week' or this age end?

The Apostle John clearly prophesies when the 'day of rest' begins in Revelation 20:1-4. This prophecy tells us at the Second Coming of Christ, when Christ preempts current world governments that nearly destroy every living creature on earth, begins the 1,000 year rest period for this earth. This period is commonly called the 'Millennium'.

Since the seventh day of the week symbolizes 1,000 years of peace under the direct rule of Jesus Christ and His perfect government, the previous six days of the week represents 6,000 years in which man was allowed to work out his own ideas and plans. In other words, each day represents 1,000 years of human existence. I'm here to tell ya, we have done a really lousy job with the six thousand years God has given man!

Now we know when the day of rest begins; directly after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. You are undoubtedly asking right about now when the first 6,000 years will end. Ah, here's where you better cinch it up!

So, get your Bible, a pen and a piece of paper and get ready to do some math. If your like me, a little slim on the math skills, get a calculator instead of paper and a pen!

Just by looking at a few passages in the Bible, we can accurately calculate when the 6,000 years are up. Take a look at Genesis 5:1-31. A complete lineage from Adam to Noah is given. Betcha skipped over that when reading Genesis? Too boring, huh? I'm here to tell ya, read the entire Bible. You just never know what valuable lessons might be learned.

Back to the math. To determine how much time elapsed from Adam to Noah, simply add the ages of each patriarch at the birth of his son, plus the age of Noah at the time of the Flood (Genesis 7:6). What number did you get? It should be 1,656 years passed from Adam to the time of the flood.

Now we are ready for the next set of numbers to add to the 1,656 years. We need to locate a future date that links the 1,656 years passed. That date is found in Genesis 11:10 when we are informed that two years have passed since the flood. So we need to add two years (time that passed since Shem fathered Arpachshad) plus the age of each successive patriarch at the time of his son's birth to the death of Terah, father of Abraham (Genesis 11:32). This sum is 427 years. So add 427 + 1,656 and we get the total of 2,083 years that passed since the Adam's creation.

Using the same 'event linking methodology', we need to link the death of Terah to another future event in order to continue the 6,000 year time-line. This event occurs just a few verses later in Genesis 12:4 when we are told how old Abraham was when he left Haran, where his father had settled.

You ask, 'well, how does that help, we don't know how old Abraham was when Terah died?' Knowing how old Abraham was at the time he left Haran will help IF we can link this event to another future event and then subtract the elapsed time from Abraham's age.

Guess what, we can link this event with with the Covenant of Circumcision God made with Abraham. In Genesis 17:1-10, we are informed that Abraham had a name change and was 99 years old. So now we need to subtract Abraham's age when he departed Haran from what we now know was Abraham's current age, i.e., 99 - 75 = 24. So now we need to add 24 to 2,083 which equals 2,107 years elapsed since the creation of Adam.

Let's keep going. We're on a roll! Again, we are looking for a future date that links God's covenant with Abraham. Jump to Galatians 3:16-17. In these two verses, we find that 430 years passed between God's covenant with Abraham and the time God gave 'the law' or the 10 commandments to Moses (Exodus 12:40). Now you see why I use a calculator! 2,107 + 430 = 2,537 years since Adam's creation.

Just a couple more calculations and the total will be known. We find the next link in 1 Kings 6:1 where we learn that 480 years passed between Israel being miraculously delivered by God out of the land of Egypt and the fourth year of Solomon's 40 year reign as King and when the building of the first temple began. So now we have 2,537 + 480 = 3,017 years since God breathed life into Adam.

It's time for secular historical records to chime in on this calculation. The most secular record I can think of, at least on the internet, is Wikipedia. Not my favorite source but secular none-the-less. Wikipedia records that Solomon's temple was completed in 960 BC. We know that the first temple took approximately six or seven years to build (1 Kings 6:38) which puts the beginning of building at 966 BC. Knowing this, we add 3,017 + 966 (which would bring us to year 1) = 3,983 years.

Almost done, so cinch it up some more because you will be rocked right out of your chair when you add 3,983 + 2,009 (number of years between year 1 and the time this blog was written). What number do you get? I have a total of 5,992 years since the creation of Adam.

O.K., now that you have picked your self up off the floor (I told you to cinch it up), that's only eight years away from God's plan of 6,000 years for man's government to rule! That means time is almost up and the final seven years before Armageddon are right before us as prophesied in Daniel 9:27 and the Great Tribulation prophesied by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:15-21.

Are ya hearing me people?

Do you realize that the final seven year period directly before the Second Coming of Christ could begin yet this year?

Are you ready?

Do you now believe? If you don't, then you weren't paying attention! You either have peanut butter in your ears or you have a faulty calculator so you better read this blog entry again.

I have just proven, using a little math and common sense, that you should be ready. If you are ready, you should not fear but rejoice that your Master, Jesus Christ is almost ready to begin His style of government. And His style of government doesn't need any crazy bail-outs or expensive economic stimulus plans. His style of government doesn't need money. It's based on His law that has proven to be the only thing that really works.

If you are not ready, you should be scared out of your mind! But there is a way for you to have peace in your heart and know you are protected. It's called being 'born again' and is the only way (John 3:3) to enter into the Kingdom of God, i.e., the government of Jesus Christ.
